Success for KCS Junior Ladies Football
The KCS Junior Ladies football team enjoyed a successful afternoon in Glanmire Community School on Thursday the 10th of November. Weather conditions were tough for both sides but a great game of football was played.
KCS were against the wind in the first half but started the game with a great work ethic which allowed them to put up a good score at half time. KCS scored a number of goals with Caoimhe Horgan and Caoimhe O’ Donnell on target on numerous occasions. The KCS defence were solid in the first half in particular and a number of blocks were displayed by the full back line of Anna Kelleher, Tara Hipwell and Kate Carmody.
The second half saw Glanmire come back into the game when they scored two goals after the break. With the help of Maisie O Callaghan in defence Aoife Cottroll, Lauren Bauleur and substitutes Carly Helbrow and Emma Jones around the middle of the field, KCS managed to get the ball to the forward line to keep our scores ticking over with Lily Collins and Vivienne O Callaghan finding the net. The moment of the match was when O’Donnell slotted over a beauty off her left foot from the left corner of the pitch.
KCS won well in the end and they will now face St.Als Carrigtwohill next Wednesday in their final group game. Well done girls!
