Celebrating Lily Cahill’s Incredible SciFest Success

We are delighted to announce that Lily Cahill, a student of Kinsale Community School, has achieved the SciFest STEM Champion 2024 Runner-Up Award at the National Final of SciFest 2024. This prestigious event celebrates the very best in STEM innovation in second-level education, offering the public an opportunity to engage with inspiring speakers and advocates of STEM.

Lily’s project, titled “Investigating Whether Childhood Imaginary Companions Impact Social Competence and Coping Skills in Teenage Years”, captured the judges’ attention with its originality, thorough research, and meaningful insights. Guided by her teacher, Mr Shaun Holly, Lily’s work delves into the fascinating intersection of psychology and social development, showcasing a level of academic curiosity and commitment that is truly commendable.

The SciFest National Final is a highlight of the academic year, providing a platform for students to present their innovative ideas and inspiring countless others to pursue their passions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Lily’s outstanding achievement as runner-up among such talented peers is a testament to her hard work, creativity, and determination.
