On Monday the 14th of September, the Kinsale Senior team travelled to Newscestown in the third round of the Munster Championship against Colaiste Cholim.
Kinsale started the game well winning a penalty that was comfortably converted by Daniel o Donavan. Some great scores from Kinsale’s forwards and a second goal from David Looney gave Kinsale the lead. Some superb defending from Kinsale kept the opposition goalless and Kinsale went into half time leading 2-6 to 0-9.
Kinsale started the second half brightly but a solid defensive from Colasiste Cholim made it difficult find a breakthrough. Colaiste Choilm began to gain the upper hand around the midle of the field which lead to a number of long range frees which they managed to expertly convert. Kinsale didn’t back down though and the players put in a superb effort, but in the end the opposition edged the win.
The final score was 0-18 to 2-10, with an unlucky defeat for Kinsale Community School.
