Ronan Hawkins and Etaoin Healy Bastow Triumph in STEM Stars Competition, Securing Joint First
In an exhilarating showcase of talent and ingenuity, Ronan Hawkins and Etaoin Healy Bastow have emerged as joint winners of the prestigious STEM Stars competition held in Limerick today. Their remarkable achievement not only highlights their exceptional abilities but also brings immense pride to their school.
Ronan's project focuses on developing a radiology tool that utilizes neural networks to enable early diagnosis from CT scans and MRIs. Etaoin Healy Bastow's project involves creating a wound protection cage. Both projects were recognised by the judges for their significant potential in the medical device sector. As a result, Ronan and Etaoin were jointly awarded first place in the STEM Stars competition.
As winners of the StemStars competition, Ronan and Etaoin not only receive well-deserved accolades but also secured a fantastic prize of €10,000 for our school. This prize not only acknowledges their individual brilliance but also highlights the importance of STEM education in shaping the future.
