U16 Hurlers Crowned County B Champions.
On Thursday 21st March, our U16 hurlers, accompanied by their coaches Mr Lombard and Mr Hegarty travelled to Newcestown GAA grounds to take on Hamilton High School Bandon in the county final.
KCS played against a very strong wind in the first half. We started with a great goal by Gerard Murphy followed shortly after by an Eoghan O’ Shea free. The boys showed great work rate and composure playing against such a strong wind and did well to limit Bandon to 8 points in the first half. Riain Walsh, Donncha Deasy, Oscar Ryan, and Darragh Winters anchored the defence. Kinsale went in at half time 1-1 to 8 points down.
The second half was closely contested. David Forde did brilliantly to finish a well worked goal at the beginning of the second half. Bandon replied swiftly with a goal of their own. KCS went on to dominate the last quarter with important scores from Eoghan O’ Shea, Liam O’ Regan, John Quinn and David Forde ensuring the win. KCS had wonderful support on the day and there were wonderful celebrations after the final whistle.
We are very proud of you all at KCS. Thanks to their coaches Mr Lombard and Mr Hegarty for all their hard work throughout the year.
